What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is a unique string of alphanumeric characters followed by a top-level extension (e.g., example.com or sgnic.sg).

Note: Prefixes like www.example.com are formally classified as a URL (Website Address), not the root domain name itself.

Vooju’s Scope: Vooju is a fully accredited registrar by SGNIC specializing strictly in .sg domain names. We also support generic extensions like .com, .net, or .org prices for these other domains are reflected at the time of registration.

What is SGNIC?

The Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) is the central registry body that regulates all domain names ending in .sg. They formulate and enforce registry policies. You can learn more at www.sgnic.sg.

Eligibility Requirements for .SG Extensions

SGNIC enforces strict rules depending on the specific .sg suffix you choose. Foreign applicants must appoint a local administrative proxy.

- for Commercial Entities:
Must be registered with ACRA, Enterprise Singapore, or an approved professional body. Foreign entities may apply if they appoint a local entity as the Administrative Contact and provide an authorization letter.

.org.sg
- for Non-Profit Groups:
Societies, charities, and community bodies registered with the Registry of Societies (ROS), alongside grassroots clubs, churches, and embassies.

.net.sg
-for Network Providers:
Restricted to info-comm operators operating network infrastructure in Singapore, verified by a valid license from IMDA.

.edu.sg
-for Educational Institutions:
Schools, colleges, and training academies officially registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE).

.sg
-for all:
Available to any individual or entity. Requires a valid Singapore postal address for the Administrative Contact (foreigners must appoint a local agent with a valid SG address).

How do I register a domain?

New Customers: Simply type your preferred name into the Domain Search Box on our main homepage.

Existing Customers: Log into your Vooju Account Admin Panel and click the Register New Domain link.

Why is my domain not working immediately?

New registrations and DNS modifications can take up to 48 hours to activate fully across the internet. This standard propagation delay applies to all registrars globally because third-party internet service providers must update their local routing caches. Please plan your website launches and email configurations accordingly.

Cancellation of Domain Registration & Refund Policies

If you need to terminate your domain registration, you must submit a formal request by contacting us.

Voluntary Cancellations (Within 7 Days): Eligible for a refund, minus a $10 SGD administrative fee.

Voluntary Cancellations (After 7 Days): The registration can be cancelled, but payment is completely non-refundable.

Registry Rejections: If the SGNIC registry rejects your application due to missing or invalid documentation, a refund will be processed back to you, subject to a $10 SGD administrative fee.
