Domain Name Transfer FAQ

Domain Name (Transfer)

Moving your domain to or away from Vooju? The process is straightforward, but it requires a few security checks to ensure your domain remains protected.

⚡ Quick Reference

Transfer In Fee: Free for .sg domain names (Note: The domain’s current expiry date remains unchanged upon transfer). For other domain names, specific transfer fees apply with a 1-year extension to your domain’s expiry te.

  • Prerequisites: Domain must be unlocked at your current registrar, and you must have the Auth Code / EPP Code.

  • Processing Time: 1 to 5 business days (depending on registry approval).

Transferring a Domain TO Vooju

Follow these steps to migrate your domain from another registrar to your Vooju account:

  1. Obtain the Auth Code: Log into your current domain provider’s panel. Ensure the domain is unlocked for transfer and request the Auth Code (sometimes called an EPP Code or Transfer Password).

  2. Initiate Transfer on Vooju: Log into your Vooju Account Dashboard, navigate to the Domain Transfer page, and enter your domain name along with the Auth Code.

  3. Complete Payment: Pay the standard transfer fee. This fee is not lost; it automatically extends your domain registration for an additional year.

  4. Approve the Transfer: Look out for a confirmation email sent to the Registrant/Admin contact email address. You must click the approval link in that email to authorize the move.

Transferring a Domain AWAY FROM Vooju

We are sad to see you go, but we make the transfer process seamless if you need to migrate to another provider:

  1. Request your Auth Code
To retrieve your domain’s unique transfer password, please contact us. For security reasons, we cannot provide Auth Codes via live chat or phone.

  2. Clear Outstanding Invoices
Ensure that the domain you wish to transfer does not have any pending or overdue invoices with Vooju. The registry will reject transfer requests for accounts with outstanding balances.

  3. Complete the Move at Your New Registrar
Provide the Auth Code to your new domain provider to initiate their transfer-in process. Once they submit the request, the registry will handle the final handover.

Frequently Asked Transfer Questions

Will my website go offline during a transfer?

No. Transferring a domain only changes the registrar. Your domain name details and nameservers (DNS) will remain exactly as they are during the transition, meaning your website and email routing will experience zero downtime.

Why is my transfer request failing?

The most common reasons for a rejected transfer are:

The domain is locked at the current registrar.
The Auth Code was typed incorrectly (they are case-sensitive).
The domain expired less than 14 days ago.
